In the default presentaion a static chart with a moving vessel will be displayed .
At the moment the vessel reaches the border of the chart a new chart will be loaded.

But you're able to choose for a static vessel and a moving chart.
If you select this option the ship stays in the center of the screen and you will see the chart move regularly

Another possibility to present the navigation is a course depended presentation.
Normally the chart will be presented North-South with the North up, but if your system is able to read a true heading then the presentation of the chart can be adjusted to that heading and the chart will be turned regularly.
In this way the presentation is in the same as a radar display.
N.B. This presentation is only meaningful if you're sailing a stable course, then if you receive the heading form a simple gps-receiver the heading is not exact actual.
